2.0 out of 5 stars Fits iPhone 4 but not 4S, November 2, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aimo Wireless IP-CASE Premium Chrome Aluminum Hard Case for Apple iPhone 4/4G/4S - Retail Packaging - Silver (Accessory)
If you want a nice sleek case for the iPhone 4, this is actually a pretty decent deal as the case is elegant, sturdy, and protects the phone pretty well. However, the case does not fit the iPhone 4S. And since it's advertised to do just that, I ordered it for my 4S and was very disappointed to find that the case blocks the silence button from being utilized. Since the iPhone 4S has slightly different placement of its buttons, the holes on the case that were sufficient for the iPhone 4 model are no longer appropriately placed for the 4S. I gave the case to my sister who has the older model, so it wasn't a complete waste (like I said, it's a nice case). But the sellers are falsely advertising when they say it works for the 4S. It doesn't, and if that's the model you own, don't waste your money.

What carrier do you use? It's my understanding that the Iphone 4s from Sprint and Verizon is identical, where as the one from AT&T is not. Could this be the problem?

Not the Verizon 4S. It has different button placement, I assure you.

So does this mean it fits the Verizon iPhone 4?

No they're not. This is a very common problem with the Iphone 4 cases i've seen. The AT&T iphone 4 and the iphone 4s mute buttons are in slightly different positions. I say AT&T because the later Verizon iPhone 4 and the new 4s's are the same. But since the AT&T one came first, and since that's what most of the 4s cases were made for, this is a common with this cases.

You can see the difference here: (And it does make a big difference with some of these cases as the way they are cut partially covers the 4s mute button and make it practically unusable).

That is strange I just received this and it fits my 4s perfectly. You must of received a defective one.

I have an iphone 4s from verizon and this case fits it awesomely. Not sure what problem OP had with it. It's true that the iphone 4 and 4s have different cases when it comes to replacing the back panel of it, but for exterior cases this thing is quite nice and totally works.

Josh, the problem I had was that it didn't fit. I am fairly certain I could not have been more clear. If it fits now, they've apparently re-cut the case. Glad yours works, though, and again, it's a very pretty case. So if it works for all 4S models now, that's great news for consumers.
