5.0 out of 5 stars I see the Tech Administration has already reviewed the book!, July 12, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Swing Your Sword: Leading the Charge in Football and Life (Hardcover)
As a Tech fan and former student, I was interested in finally hearing Leach's side of the story. This book turned out to be so much more. I'm so glad that this is more of an autobiography, and that we learned more from Mike Leach's own pen about his life and his history. I agree completely with Donald Trump... Mike Leach was screwed... and the good 'ol boy network in Lubbock will continue to assassinate his character, lie about his actions, etc. in order to legitimize their screwing of Mike Leach. But in the end, Leach has won. He kept his honor, his principles, and his sense of humor about the whole thing. The scumbags in the bell tower have to live with themselves, and that can't be easy. Great book Mike, and I'm glad I actually purchased it and read it.

"Swing Your Sword" ... a great read ... lots of good-good college football!

Coach Leach is of Texas Tech "Striving for Honor Evermore", and he could not have done it without the support of all those that grew to love him, and still do to this day! The Kent Hance gang, Craig and Nancy James, ESPN and Co., are mere posers.

May he get to 'pee' on Kent Hance too!

Remember, everything unique is special, and Coach Leach is a very special man!

I also enjoyed the book. I really like his 'risk taking' and the way he makes decisions.
Craig James is the ultimate Little League Dad, who hired a PR firm to slam Leach and slant the whole story so ESPN would go after Coach Leach. I cannot stand the guy- but it does prove he will be a good politician.
I hope Coach Leach is successful in his lawsuits with ESPN and CJ. The entire deal with Texas Tech should have been settled out of court. What a waste....
Good Luck to Coach Leach.

It doesn't take a triple digit IQ to see what the bell tower network did (unfortunately a lot of Lubbock residents don't possess an IQ that high) but I appreciate your review and will go and buy the book to read it myself. Don't be too harsh on the others, I'm not as sure as you are that they are capable of reading to begin with.

I doubt a "servant in Christ Jesus" would ever be proud of the phrase "the scumbags in the bell tower". Sorry dude but I call it like I see it.

Craig James showed himself to be a narcissistic jerk living vicariously through his son. What a terrible, terrible person he is. I'm glad ESPN fired his sorry azz so I don't have to see his ugly mug any more. Bad luck to you, Craig. You deserve it.
