Not as passionate as one would hope.,
This review is from: Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album (Audio CD)
I purchased this as soon as it was available. I have to say I was disappointed. The performances of the chosen selections are luke warm and just pleasant - as opposed to passionate. For instance check out Pachelbel's Canon performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and compare it to the one featured here; or Bachianas Brasileras No. 5 performed by Elina Garanca - and tell me whether after having heard those versions - this compilation doesn't seem somewhat less than stellar. Believe me I am no snob - but I would have preferred more passionate performances. Maybe this was made to appeal to a more middle of the road audience. But since the trilogy was not middle of the road - I thought the performances would follow suit. I would suggest for those who really enjoyed the selections - compile your own. If you want to put a baby to sleep - go for this one.
