Typical Seiko High Quality,
This review is from: Seiko Men's SNE107 Stainless Steel Watch with Link Bracelet (Watch)
It's nice to see Seiko getting into the solar market. Battery changing can be a hassle when you own as many watches as I do and can get to be expensive.
My first impression of the watch when I picked it up was that the bracelet seemed a bit light and not as sturdy as the bracelet on other Seiko watches that I own. It is also not as wide as I like on a watch that has a 42-43mm case. It is a 20mm bracelet and I think a 22mm with a less "tinny" feel to it would have looked and felt much better. That is the only reason I rate it 4 stars instead of 5. Many might expect a heftier, bigger bracelet on a watch this size. The second thing I noticed was the incredibly beautiful black color of the dial. It's sort of a black matte-sunray dial (if that makes any sense). I am a fan of pure black dials and this one is just beautiful. On other solar watches that I own, I can slightly see through the dial and into the solar panel but not on this one. It's completely black.
Some have mentioned that the date was not aligned with the day of the week. Not the case on my watch. Day and date are perfectly aligned.
The bezel is super easy to turn and being a rather chunky bezel, makes the watch seem bigger than it's actual size.
Luminescence is typical of all the Lumibrite paint that Seiko uses. Incredibly bright and lasts all night. Due to my job, I need to be able to see the time in the dark and this watch does not let me down.
When all is said and done, this watch is typical of Seiko in that it is a good deal. Hopefully, I'll have it around as long as my other Seiko watches. Some are 35 years old and still running like the day I bought them.
