This review is from: Ready For The Flood (Audio CD)
I loved Rainy Day Music & Hollywood Town Hall, & liked Tomorrow the Green Grass a lot. But this one seems flat (& I'm not just talking about Olson's singing). Frankly, so does Mockingbird Time.
Even the lyrics seem trite at best.
For a long-awaited reunion, these guys barely seem to be putting in much in the way of effort.
As someone said, this is still better than 90% of the stuff out there, but that's not the standard of review.
I'll treasure those early albums, but after these last two disks, I am done buying Jayhawks or Louris/Olson albums on faith or on any residual goodwill from those earlier wonderful efforts.
