I bought one at least 5 years ago. I use it mainly to record notes or business phone calls. It still works well. The mic that comes with it is great for directional recording to cut down on unwanted sounds. It also has a tape counter to help you index seperate recordings.

It is 2013. There are digital recorders that do this and enable users to file each recording and email it.

I had one like this and it only lasted a few months until you could hear background noises from inside the unit..it seems all of the newer type cassette recorders made in China do this..I was told by someone that they do not put a filter in to keep inside noises from recording though the outside recording.
