The Ultimate Carry On Bag,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Targus Drifter II Backpack for 17-Inch Laptop, Black/Gray (TSB239US) (Personal Computers)
I'm a Captain in the Merchant Marines and wanted a great and durable carry on that MUST be a back pack to travel with. I often fly to all ends of the earth to take over ships some for delivery to new owners and some for work periods in excess of 6 months. I need to be both equipped and comfortable during gigs and I normally carry certain things to ensure just that. I carry electronics for entertainment and Marine Navigation (back up on my part) and this back pack fits them all with unbelievable room to spare. There's a pocket, pouch, section what ever you wanna call it for everything I carry. Wet pouch, cushioned pocket, lined area to prevent scratches - unbelievable. The empty back pack Is unbelievably light but then again I'm 6ft tall 200lbs so that might explain.
I recently upgraded my travel electronics so this Targus Drifter II carries my (amazon purchases)
Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile Speaker - Nylon
Apple iPod touch 64GB (4th Generation) - Black - Current Version
Apple iPad 2 MC775LL/A Tablet (64GB, Wifi + AT&T 3G, Black) NEWEST MODEL
Apple MacBook Pro MD314LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION)
EnGenius Network Device EUB9603H USB Adapter 150Mbps 600mW 802.11b/g/n Retail
3M CP45R Generation II Projector Camcorder with HD Recording, 1x Optical Zoom and 2.4-Inch LCD Screen (White/Red)
Canon VIXIA HF G10 Full HD Camcorder with HD CMOS Pro and 32GB Internal Flash Memory
Kindle Keyboard 3G, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display
Garmin GPSMAP 62S Handheld GPS Navigator
Not purchased on Amazon:
Weems & Plath Tamaya NC-2100G Navigation Computer
Two pairs of Maui Jim Sunglasses and there's a special pouch for those sunglasses on this Targus Drifter II.
Spare wrist watch
Did I mention that the chargers and cables for all electronics are in the bag as well along with my cell phone charger? Also that the ipad2, Kindle and MacBook Pro 13 are all in cases or sleeves before being placed into the bag. The shoulder straps are luxuriously padded and generously wide to eliminate fatigue. I've gotten so many compliments on this back pack.
If you're wondering I need to carry all these things, its to maintain my sanity during long periods away from home and to stay in touch with the wife and daughter - the ladies in my life. There are other gadgets inside but trust me when I say this is the ultimate carry on. It's design is such that at airport security you can access your laptop easily. It's well worth the price.

I really appreciate the effort you put into your review. I've been looking for a bag that can hold all of my gadgets and wasn't sure if this bag was capable. After reading your long list, I'm more than certain this bag can handle the load:
LG Optimus G
Audio Technica ATH M50 headphones + Fiio E11 mini amp
Flip HD mini cam
plus various cables, memory cards, batteries, chargers
Much less than what you carry around, but a little more than most. I also don't travel the world like you, so I'm positive it'll handle the wear and tear my bopring life will throw at it. Thanks. This will be the bag I go with.
