I had the same issue. Contact the manufacturer for the Australian version. It curves from right to left.

I wonder if you took your US banana to Australia if the slicer would work correctly for you? I'm known as kind of a "thinker", and well I was just thinking that water swirls around a drain differently depending on your zip code so maybe the banana would change shape and fit your slicer too. It's definitely worth a try. After all, what have you got to lose? Good luck.

Stand the banana up on its tip then try it that way. You have to move the 571B REALLY fast though. Otherwise, you're just playing Topple The Banana. Not really all that fun after the first few hours.

I believe Amazon has a Banana bender listed in it's personal hygiene section. Just don't leave it out if you have teenage boys.

They do have a banana bender. But one reviewer of this product said I will have better luck bending my bananas by sleeping on them. Stimulating and it works.

That certainly has appeal. A whole bunch or one at a time?

Well.. if he knew you had that slicer in the kitchen it could effect him some. Have you tried chocolate syrup and whip creamed. I've found that fun..specially on Sundays.

Maybe this would slice wieners too then? They're a bit more flexible than bananas. Altho the idea of whipped cream and chocolate doesn't translate quite as well. Ketchup and mustard, hon?

I'm curious if you would put it in a bun before you sliced it or after? Probably easier before. I'm also not sure it would work on foot longs. Not a problem for me mind you ..just a thought.
