Definitively digging it,
This review is from: Batman: Arkham Origins (Video Game)
I had always heard good things about the series and only managed to play a little of the first actual game. I loved what I had been able to do and so I decided to buy this to go along with the Wii U I just bought. I am very impressed. I love the over world which is Gotham ,obviously, in which you can beat up criminals who are minding their own business or are actually committing the crime in real time. The combat is quite the same and perhaps more improved either way its pretty solid.
The story is actually quite interesting. It seems that on Christmas day a bunch of criminals are giving batman $*it. There is a bounty on his head which is being put out by Black Mask, and there are new faces(Avoiding spoilers) that are making themselves known to the crime world. There are also the usual faces doing their daily shenanigans.
Now the gamepad makes the game a little more immersive which is why I think the story is better and a little more suspenseful. You use it to solve crimes at the scene which reveal important clues and information that help develop and reveal what to encounter later in the story. I like that the map is on the pad and you can set up a point to reach by simply taping the stylus twice on the objective.
Some people have mentioned that the games is like 10 hours to beat. Well, if you do some side missions and beat up some criminals from time to time it makes it way longer. Its rewarding and interesting too. You gain XP in which you can use to upgrade batman's gadgets, combat skills, and health.
The only thing I don't like so far is that there is an option to change suits but the suits are either too hard to get because you need to have truly mastered the free flow combat to beat all the challenges that unlock 1 or 2 suits and the rest are payed dlc.
