4.0 out of 5 stars impressed skeptic - the picky cat likes it, September 10, 2011

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
When Vine sent me this I thought -- oh yeah (read heavy sarcasm)! Another thing my cats will turn their noises up at.

Okay I was 50% wrong. One cat, Pickles, will drink water anywhere (he is also the one who drops food in the water dish). Well Pickles does not like this (I think the noise and the moving water startle him).

However (and this is the good part Fred who used to sit on the bathroom vanity and meow until fresh water was put in the sink -- Fred LOVES this. I have been using it now for 4 weeks and no more meowing in the bathroom.

While it says that it will work with the favorite water dish -- not so. I ended up using a glass bread pan. If the pump is in a shallow dish it makes too much noise and the water movement it too much.

It took a while to get used to the hum of the pump but now it has blended into the background.

I must say that while very skeptical at first I'm really impressed with this product. The water has remained clean despite being next to the food area, Fred continues to use it, and no meowing in the middle of the night because someone forgot to plug the sink and fill it with water.

Update: 10/16/2011

Both cats are regularly drinking from the bowel with the filter. The filter continues to operate without any problem. The cats still hesitate to use it when the water is lower and there is a lot of movement due to the filter.

Still impressed with this product and Fred is still no longer mewing in the bathroom asking for fresh water.
