5.0 out of 5 stars I miss Johnny...but love these girls, August 9, 2012
This review is from: 2 Broke Girls: The Complete First Season (DVD)
At times the humor..or lack thereof..is a bit daunting, but all in all this is a delightful show. Love all the characters.

Not sure why they felt the need get rid of Kat Dennings love interest. Johnny was cute, funny and their chemistry was fabulous. Then to "marry him off" was unthinkable. Peach's character is hilarious...and so they get rid of her too? What gives? Bringing in the upstairs Polish Princess neighbor was OK for a few episodes, but now they seem to be giving her WAY too big a piece of the show. The writers need to re-focus on the girls.

The writing is a bit off at times, but this show is worth watching.

It's light, funny and is a great way to kill a half hour.

Sorry to diagree, but I think adding Jennifer Coolidge to the cast halfway through season one was a REALLY GREAT idea -- partly because she's such a perfect foil for the similarly always-horny, Oleg (who clearly is noooo match AT ALL for the voluptuous "cougar" Sophie!! (LOL)

You are right about Jennifer Coolidge. She is amazing and very funny. But it's supposed to be 2 Broke Girls...having her in every single episode, more than once, detracts from that. They need to develop the girls more. Perhaps not have Max be SO negative. Maybe the producers ran out of ideas on how to keep it funny and fresh and that's why they felt the need to add Jennifer. Either way I enjoy the show. Maybe Jennifer will get a spin off. She's talented enough to carry a show...look what she's doing for this one.

Well, Jennifer Coolidge is DEFINITELY a scene stealer -- much the way that Ted Knight frequently was on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" -- but I think she's a much-needed comic addition to the show. I think it'll be very interesting as the series goes on if the writers DO "develop the girls more" -- and also the supporting MALE cast members as well -- much the way that "Cheers" adroitly did as ITS season progressed, and the characters evolved.

Love the idea of Sophie getting her own (spin-off) series, much the way that Rhoda and Phyllis both did on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." :)
