1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work; picture shows different product, April 30, 2008

Length:: 1:24 Mins

If you order this, you may not get the adapter seen in the picture. The one I got is misdesigned such that it distorts the sound and is effectively useless.

The picture (and pre-selected reseller) changed while I was recording this review. So one explanation for differering experiences may be that it depends on which reseller you buy it from. It still seems like you're taking a chance if you order this adapter.

Which seller did you get it from? The seller changed on me, too. I ordered one from another vendor that worked fine. When I clicked back on this the vendor had changed to eforcity.

Thank you.

Mine came from BargainCell. And that's what I'm seeing now as the reseller, along with the picture of the 3-conductor adapter, which does not match the non-working 4-conductor one that I received. Right after I posted my video review, the reseller changed and the picture actually showed the 4-conductor item. Basically, there are at least two different cables that are extremely similar and, intentionally or not, they seem to get mixed up. That combined with Amazon's constant reshuffling of who you're actually buying it from makes this into a gamble. I'm just going to spend the (rather outrageous) $15 for the Griffin adapter since I know it works.

Thank you very much for posting this review. I was about to order but won't go near this product now. You've saved me money, time and a lot of hassle!

Get the Griffin from PC Connection. That way you know exactly who your vendor is, the shipping is a little less expensive, and the shipping time much faster. Needless to say, I don't like the "Amazon Marketplace" concept.

thank you, chris, for taking the time to post your video. It was informative - I'm in need of another adapter and would not have known to select carefully had I not run into your video.
