Excellent book - rule #9 needs to be read in context with the rest of the book,

This review is from: Millionaire Teacher: The Nine Rules of Wealth You Should Have Learned in School (Paperback)
This book is very good, it's well written, informative and gives practical advice on what to do. It's written by a North American and of course focuses on the US and Canada, however it's still applicable to readers of other countries - you just need to do a bit more searching on the internet to find the fund types.
Some people have criticised rule #9, as though it contradicts rules #1-#8, however this is not the case. What the author is saying in rule #9 is effectively "I recognise that the investment strategy I recommend may seem a little dull, so if you want to do stock picking etc then take 10% or less of your investment money and use it in this way", rule #9 is not recommended (see rules #1-#8) but gives helpful advice on a risky, more emotional , investment if that's what you want.
