Not really as great as I was led to believe reading earlier reviews. And no, I am not missing any nuance or subtlety (Scalzi is anything but subtle). Yes, its very meta, and yes, there is some of the usual humor and dialogue to be expected of a Scalzi book...but I'm really starting to think the author is a one trick pony.
Old Mans War was great. A must read scifi novel. The sequel was also very good. The third one...pretty damn good but not quite as good. Agent to the Stars, the book about the "sheep", etc etc...Does this author have another OMW up his sleeve? We need something a little more substantial, Mr. Scalzi. This stuff is starting to seem lazy...
