3.0 out of 5 stars Thinking Again, March 7, 2012
This review is from: Think Like A Man (MP3 Music)
There is no question that when it has came down to Jennifer Hudson, she has had some good songs, and the range that flows like her idols, Aretha Franklin and the definitive Whitney Houston. But when it has came down to her last album I Remember Me, it worked nobly well. Nevertheless, there can be one or two moments where a songstress like Jennifer can have a misstep. Think Like A Man, her latest single teaming up with Ne-Yo and rapper Rick Ross, doesn't really deliver as strong as she has made herself become vocally. The song feels more like her answer to Keri Hilson's Knock You Down that is a bit better, yet more chemistry from all 3 performers could've drove more into the song. Hopefully, when Jennifer's 3rd album comes up, there could be more to sing about.

Song: C 1/2+

The important thing to remember is that this song is from the movie soundtrack "Think Like A Man" and not indicative of her 3rd cd (though in my opinion that wouldn't be bad). I like this song and it's good to hear her sing something that's upbeat and radio friendly unlike her last cd "I Remember Me" which to me was okay but I never found myself playing over and over. For an artist there can be a thin line between remaining true to what the core base loves (the belty - moody tracks) and trying new stuff (as in this case and the song she did with David Guetta - "Night of Your Life"). I like this song and was happy to hear Jennifer and Ne-Yo together again (remember "Leaving Tonight") this time on an upbeat track - with or without Rick Ross it works for me.
