This review is from: Thunder Across the Swamp: The Fight for the Lower Mississippi, February-May 1863 (Hardcover)
Thunder Across the Swamp is a splendid account of the 1863 land and water attempts of Union and Confederate forces to defend or take southwest Louisiana from Brashear City to Alexandria. Along the way, the animosities among commanders, the impact on local people and slaves, personal accounts, and graphics bring a 'you-are-there' feel to the book!!
