This review is from: Fifty Shades of Grey: Book One of the Fifty Shades Trilogy (Fifty Shades of Grey Series) (Paperback)
This was, without a doubt, the worst written book I have ever had in my hands. Never in my life have I hated the character within the first 12 pages of opening a book. Anastasia is going to stand in for her sick friend Kate and go interview a man she's never met. She begins cursing Kate because she failed to give her a brief biography of this man. She knows nothing about him; he could be 90 or he could be 30. Well, how about opening your mouth and asking some questions! What kind of twit would just go off and interview such a wealthy business man without at least some knowledge of WHY she was going there? Absurd! I am totally disappointed because I was expecting this to be a great read and it was nothing but amateurish drivel. I have never in my life returned a book and wanted a refund for it, but I am with this. I wish I'd investigated this book and read reviews about it like I usually do, even though a lot of times I disagree with the bad reviews and end up loving the book. Not this time. The bad reviews are spot on!
The last series I read was the Highlander books by Karen Marie Moning. She has superb writing skills. Reading E L James' book was like reading an immature teenage girls diary. This might be one of those times when the movie, if one is actually made, is better than the book. Let us hope so!
