Perfect for the Beginner,

This review is from: Sabrina Soto Home Design: A Layer-by-Layer Approach to Turning Your Ideas into the Home of Your Dreams (Paperback)
If you are new to interior design and are looking for a step by step guide to help you in your quest for a beautiful home then this book is for you. I purchased this book because I am a huge fan of Sabrina's HGTV show High/Low Project. It was the first time I ever watched a design show that inspired me to give it a try and put some personality into my home. It wasn't until watching her show that I truly understood that you can have a beautiful home on a tight budget. I used to think that if you had a tight budget then your home would always reflect it, not so. Since watching that first episode late last year I have bought 26 design book and subscribed to Anthology and Dwell along with purchasing the special issue of Domino in April. Given that I've read so many books on the subject of interior design and read countless blogs daily, I didn't really learn anything new from this book. However, with that being said, while I was reading the book I thought of how perfect this book would have been for me had it come out at the beginning of my quest for knowledge and that's why I think it's perfect for the beginner. A book like this was just what I was looking for. Most of the photos in this book are of neutral spaces, which I'm not a huge fan of. I'm not sure if the images were of spaces she designed or if they were stock photos. I would love to see a book by Sabrina where she tackles some of the most famous, beautiful spaces and then decorates a home or room in a home to mimic. Kind of like a High/Low Project in book format (i.e Johnathan Adler's bedroom and do it someone's home for under 2K etc.. ) would be great.
