This review is from: Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading (Paperback)
This is simply a fantastic book that has been published at the ideal time. If you need to implement the Common Core State Standards but were unsure how, you must get this book. It is useful for grades four through high school. It shows the next steps after you have taught reading strategies for fiction books. Using the notice and note strategies, students will find out exactly where and when to use comprehension strategies. They will learn that the author has left "signposts" to warn them to stop and think. This is a great book to move students from just doing strategies when you tell them to, to using strategies when they read independently.
