Verified Purchase(What's this?)

"Magic remote" is pretty annoying. TV itself seems to be good - reasonable sound, reasonable image. I decided to buy this model because of good viewing angle range and better than average sound. I do not care much about the 3D features that manufacturers are promoting.
Please note - the "magic remote" was the only one provided. IMHO this is one of those occasions when being cute and creative trumped being useful. I really wish I would have a more traditional remote together with this TV. Changing options and settings is not very easy.

I agree with kuznetsov. Trying to change settings is extremely frustrating. I miss the remote on the TV I replaced with this one. Not a favorable comment on a new TV.

Mine came with a traditional remote also, which works 10x better and has a LOT of buttons. The magic remote sits in the drawer and the standard remote gets good use. It's sleek as well. I would contact whoever you bought it from and let them know you never received it!

I purchased a wireless mouse and keyboard and just plugged the USB receiver in the back of the TV and now able to use a "real" mouse and mouse pad. The wireless keyboard is great because it took forever to type anything in using the magic wand. I am going to switch this TV to another one, because it is impossible to see anything when the movie has a night shot or anything dark. I changed the settings, but have to lighten it up so much it looks weird. Then, I have to change it back again, when the night shot is over. I found the "extra" stuff on the TV is too much trouble and it is easier to just go to my computer to get something done.

Here's the solution for the remote problem. If you have an Android or an iPhone or some kind of tablet (everyone who owns a TV this modern surely has one of these), go to the appropriate app store and download LG Magic. You can fully control your TV with your phone, browse and start your different apps like Netflix instantly, type way faster with your fingers than with the Magic Remote, move the on-screen pointer by moving your finger across the phone or tablet screen, and it has an input selection button right on the main screen (something the Magic Remote lacks). Get the app and you have more control than any traditional remote will give you.
