5.0 out of 5 stars 1 sucks, but the computer is awesome, July 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pavilion 17-e118dx 17.3" LED (BrightView) Notebook AMD A-Series A8-4500M 1.90GHz (Office Product)
windows 8.1 sucks, but the computer is awesome...unlike cheapie laptops from Walmart, this computer has a Ram access etc. Same chassis as older Pavilions, but much faster processor. Could use 8 gigs of RAM instead of 4. The touch pad is not smooth and will take some getting used to. Smoking deal at $444.00

Does it have one DIMM or 2 DIMMs. in other words does it have an empty memory slot.

Yes you can upgrade the only remaining slot with a 4 gig ram 1600 speed upgrade i've seen for 35.00 bucks...

It's just advertising that it has dedicated memory for videos in which they all do. The on board video card has dedicated memory.

I ended up returning mine because I found it to be too slow. I bought a 15.6 Asus touch screen lap top . It was 799.99 but much faster and a way better screen. I was so upset over that HP and learned that it is not even a true quad core. Those of you who bought it and kept yours just do yourself a favor and upgrade the memory with a 4 gigs of ram so you'll at least have the 8 gigs and that should speed it up more to improve your enjoyment.
