I am very disappointed with this product. I've not used it for cooking, nor do I intend to; I can't get past having a lot of black stuff come off on the towel when washed. I've washed it 3 times, 'seasoned' it twice, and STILL get black stuff on the towel when drying. Black stuff that I do not intentd to ingest!

Most likely, what is coming off on your towel is whatever you are using to "season" the griddle, which doesn't need seasoning. There is nothing inherent in the new product, unless yours had been previously used, that would come off on a towel. I have a couple of Swiss Diamond cookware and have never had the problem you describe. They are superb cookware.

You should contact Swiss Diamond. I do agree with A. Dietrich that you should not have seasoned it and that is probably your problem.
If you want to sell it since you won't use it, let me know.

What you are scraping off is burned fat. Soak it overnight in water with a heavy dose of Dawn, then scrub with a blue ScotchBright. Next time, don't use so much butter and don't let it scortch on high heat.
