Your search for a projector stops here!!!! AWESOME,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ViewSonic PRO8200 1080p Home Theater Projector (Electronics)
This projector is everything I hoped it would have been and more. I had originally bought a cheap projector for a little more than $200, but it didn't do well in ambient light and it didn't have a clear picture. I returned it and decided to go for the 1080p. I read some reviews, and was encouraged for the most part, but a little scared about what someone said of horizontal paning.
No problems whatsoever in horizontal paning. This projector is not a compromise for a tv, it IS a tv. it turns your wall into a tv. I'm telling you, this thing on the wall, in my house, is an 80 inch tv. Not I nor any of my friends were like "wow this projector is so big and it is almost as good as a tv" no... this thing looks exactly like a 1080p tv. no compromise at all.
I played Halo on our xbox, streamed 1080p youtube videos from my computer, and watched the Gladiator starring Russel Crow all in beautiful, tear-bringing, crystal clear 1080p HD. (note, my xbox also streamed How I Met Your Mother on netflix but was only able to stream it in 720p, i think this is because my xbox is older and I am using a HD cable, not an HDMI cable. could also be that netflix only has it available in 720)I'm not usually this nutty, but I am still awestruck by this projector. I can't think of any way it could be improved by buying a more expensive projector, except maybe the sound. The sound is okay, but I hooked up my computer speakers to make it a little louder. Seriously, You will find little difference between this and a more expensive projector. I can't think of any way it could improve (until the next best thing after 1080p comes out.)
This last comment I'll make is that I just got this projector. I turned it out in fairly broad daylight, switched it into eco mode to save the bulb, and could still see it clearly. I'll follow up with this review in a few months to make sure nothing goes wrong, but with a 3-year projector warranty I'm not worried at all. This is my third product from ViewSonic, (a tablet a couple years back, a 1080p computer monitor, and now this projector), and I must say I am now a fan for life of ViewSonic. Normally I'll look at Samsung first to see prices, but now my first pick will be viewsonic. Quality products, great warranty and service, for competitive pricing. This is how companies need to be in the age of amazon-returns. Great job viewsonic!

Buckaroo Banzai says:
how can you say the warranty and service are great when you just barely got the projector?

I can't attest for the actual service after you make a claim, but the fact is the warranty is for 3 years at no extra cost. That's a pretty awesome value
