5.0 out of 5 stars BIG, Old-Fashioned Clock, April 14, 2008
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Seiko Bedside Alarm Clock Black Case with Silver-Tone Trim (Watch)
One thing that nobody else has noted is this clock's size; it's BIG! The diameter of the face is 4-1/2 to 5 inches (didn't actually measure it, just estimated). I found that a pleasant surprise, but I can see somebody possibly ordering one of these thinking it's a travel-sized clock since no dimensions are given on the product info page.
The backlighting is great; it doesn't light up the whole room but you can make out what time it is at night. The amber/green (alarm off/on indicator)light is a nice touch too.
The alarm is persistent without jolting you awake. It starts with a moderate multi note pattern, then progresses to the persistent part. The snooze bar is on top right where it should be and has an interval of about 5 minutes before the alarm sounds again.
The second hand sweeps instead of ticking off, which makes the clock extremely silent. Last but not least, the alarm setting wheel is on the front of the clock and the alarm on/off switch is big and located on the side.
It takes 3 "AA" cells and the manual says that they should last 1 year.

I think you mean diameter. Circumference is the distance around the circle, not from one side to the other.

Thank you for comments. My older Timex with loud alarm is getting irresponsible in sounding off at time set. Being in assisted living apartment with the electric cords and plug in's is becoming a problem, I need dependable alarms as having lots of appointments now to Cancer Center etc. I'm reading reviews. I like your comments on this clock above. It sounds like a winner for sure.
