Basic wireless mouse that does the job
, January 1, 2012
This review is from: AmazonBasics Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver (Black) (Personal Computers)
Typically I'm not really a fan of wireless mice. As an avid gamer I dislike having them fade out in the middle of playing which usually ends in frustration. I'm also not a fan of constantly having to replace the batteries. I'll gladly put up with a cord over convenience of a wireless mouse. That being said however, I wanted to give the Amazon Basics Wireless Mouse with Nano Receiver a go when it showed up on Amazon Vine. Here are my thoughts;
+ Extremely easy installation/set-up. No physical software installation necessary. Windows detects and updates everything.
+ Nano receiver can be safely stored inside of the battery compartment, making it much more difficult to lose.
- A bit too small for my hands. This mouse is made more for laptops and for portability.
- Having to remove the battery cover just to store the nano receiver is a bit bothersome. Many wireless mice have a slot on the side where you can just insert it.
- Odd battery angle insert.
- Mouse and batteries both are made in China.
All in all a functional wireless mouse that serves all basic purposes. The price is generally affordable depending on Amazon's price fluctuations and it's certainly always cheaper than most wireless mouse competitors. Would I buy another one, probably not as its a bit too small for my hands. However, would I recommend it to someone looking for a basic wireless laptop mouse? Sure thing.
