One of the Best.,

This review is from: To Reign in Hell: A Novel (Paperback)
This book is one of my all time favorite novels, and you will find few better for sheer story telling; Don't be misled or turned off by the cover art currently available for this title; which was obviously created and approved by folks who never read the book. The 1985 cover by Steve Hickman is much better; in it we see Lilith riding Belial into battle in the climatic scene of the story;
and even this description is a bit misleading,
The Story really has more in common with the very best of Frank Herbert, in terms of the understanding of Politics, Deceit, Betrayal and other all too human motivations that move the characters in this prelude to Genesis; and the best of Roger Zelazny in the author's ability to draw us into a world that is both Fantastic, and yet utterly believable at the same time,
to Borrow from Roger's forward:
When I realized where he was going with this story, my first reaction was, "He isn't going to be able to pull this one off." Not without getting trite, or cute, or moralistic- or falling into any number of the many pitfalls I foresaw regarding this material. I was wrong. He not only avoided them all, he told a fantastically engaging story with consummate grace and genuine artistry.
And I can't really add to that ... read this book you'll love it. BB.
