This review is from: Breville JE900 Juice Fountain Professional Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I am admittedly brand new to juicing, and have had my Breville Juicer for only two days. However before I bought it, I was determined to do the necessary research to make sure I got a good product. When I first started looking for a juicer, I was a bit overwhelmed by how many different brands that are available. After MANY hours online, I decided to take the plunge with Breville's Juice Fountain. Although there are some juicers that are more expensive, or claimed to remove more juice and nutrients, all of these other brands had reviews stating that the owners only used these juicers occasionally due to the "work" involved to use and clean them. Let's face it: for most of us, our lives do not revolve around juice extraction, and to use a juicer on a regular basis, it needs to be able to fit into our already busy schedules. I am happy to report that the Breville Juice Fountain easily passes the ease of use test, and has earned a permanent place on my counter top for daily use. Part of what makes it a "life-changing" appliance is that it can actually fit into your daily lifestyle. Plus, it is a blast to use - what better way to relieve your daily stress than to pulverize helpless fruits and vegetables in seconds?I timed my "in-and-out" time in the kitchen this morning. I used four carrots, three relatively small red apples, a big handful each of grapes, strawberries, and cranberries. I washed all the produce, and juiced it (actual juicing time took about one minute). It extracted about 30 ounces of juice that tasted absolutely delicious. I then rinsed all the parts with hot soapy water. The metal filter bowl DOES take several minutes to clean with the scrub brush, and it is important to get the minute particles out of the filter. I dried everything with a towel and put it back together, and left the kitchen exactly how it was when I started. Total time was about 15 minutes to make the juice, drink it and clean up - most breakfasts would take about this long anyway. If I were in a real hurry I could probably do the whole thing in 5 minutes if I "chugged" the juice and used the dishwasher, or just rinsed and let the parts air dry. About the loudness: I was prepared to have to cover my ears after reading the reviews about how loud it was supposed to be. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was much quieter than I imagined it would be. As a comparison, my blender is significantly louder than the juicer, even with nothing in the blender. I am guessing from the other reviews that it is louder than some other juicer brands, but I can tell you will NOT have to cover your ears. Speaking of the blender, one interesting thing I noticed is that unlike my blender blades which stop within a second or two of turning it off, the juicer spins for a good 20-30 seconds after turning it off. There is obviously some major power behind this juicer. In summary, this is a very well-designed, very-powerful, and very-USABLE juicer. It is of very high quality, and is extremely durable. Best of all it is a product that you will enjoy using and want to incorporate into your daily lifestyle. I am extremely happy that I decided on this product, and look forward to using it for a long time. |
