Works great..... but temporary & expensive.,
This product works wonderfully for women who have a problem controlling the natural balance of bacteria and as a result experience odor, discharge or irritation. One pack comes with 4 tampon-like gel filled applicators, each which lasts for 3 days (12 total days for a pack). If you wear tampons, applying the gel is just as easy-- insert, deposit, remove plastic applicator. It totally calms down all the discomforts associated with bacterial imbalance. The problem is that after the application expires, somewhere around the 4th or 5th day all the symptoms will return unless you reapply the gel. Most drug stores sell them for between $16-19 (at least in my region) which can get pretty expensive considering that you'd need two boxes to make the whole month using them consistently. That can average from $33-$40 p/month for 24 calendar days. It would be wonderful if continual usage would improve the longterm vaginal pH over time but this product makes no such claims. So overall it's great while you are using it but pricey with no longterm benefits.

You also might have something else going on with you. I suggest anyone to first see a doctor before diagnosing yourself. I have used this every month after my period and it works. I also eat plain yogurt. So with both I feel it is working.

M. Harrison says:
You know, I am sure she did see a doctor. I see my GYN all the time - due to atrophy and BV I get from the atrophy-- I am not sexually active--- had hysterectomy early-- and what this woman says is exactly right. As for YOGURT eating-- you would be WAY better off on Probiotics around 11 million- and not the things this company sells. It is a joke! Hardly any probiotic in there- and costs a bloody fortune! Geesh.

There is currently no doctor that has told me you can "cure" BV. I've had recurring BV for 12 years now. It's not gonna stop. You've gotta take a supplement every day to balance your pH out. Acidophilus is the best for that. You can get them in 100 capsule bottles and take one or two a day. That way, using these gel things can be further between...

Why don't you try taking the Rephresh Pro-B Probiotic Feminine Supplement that they also sell with that line. Maybe that might help balance out everything and help with not having to take it so often. I would also go to the doctor and get an antibiotic and the Metrogel to knock it out and start from scratch. After you finish the meds, start doing the RePhresh and the Pro-B. Hope this helps.
