Coconut Secret Raw Nectar,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Coconut Secret Organic Raw Coconut Nectar Low Glycemic Sweetener - 12 oz (Grocery)
I bought this product to have as a replacement for sugar. I am diabetic and I was looking for something that would not raise my blood sugar. This product raised my blood sugar higher than regular sugar. It has a sweet maple, rich and creamy taste.

It probably raised your blood sugar levels higher than ordinary sugar because it actually contains more sugar than an equivalent amount of ordinary sugar.

Ronald L. Dorazio says:
Then why is it being advertised as acceptable for diabetics?

To see the nutritional content of this product you can go to FoodFacts dot com. There it shows that one tablespoon of this product contains 13 grams of sugar and 55 calories. One tablespoon of ordinary granulated sugar, by comparison, contains 12 grams of sugar and 45 calories. You must also take into account that one tablespoon of the coconut syrup also contains a large amount of water.

Are you taking into account what you ate with the Coconut Nectar and what you ate with the Sugar?

I didn't eat anything with the coconut nectar. I took one teaspoon to check the taste.

And what did you eat with the sugar?
