doesn't work well,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Moom Organic Hair Removal Kit, Tea Tree, 6-Ounce Package (Health and Beauty)I so wanted to love this product, but oh well, didn't happen. I'm fairly familiar with most kinds of hair removal: shaving, waxing, epilating, laser. With that said, I'm most familiar with waxing, having done so for the past 15 years, both professionally and at home. I recently switched to epilating because I just couldn't afford monthly waxes anymore, and the mess of doing it at home was enough of a deterrent to me. However, epilating my thighs hurt so much, I decided to wax them, and just keep epilating my lower legs.
Anyhow, I bought Moom because of the mess-free promise. I thought "this is it, I'm in heaven". However, once I got it home, it just didn't work properly. I followed the directions, and I am very experienced with at-home waxing also, and it just wouldn't grab all the hairs. It grabbed about 10 percent of the hairs on any given area. True, there was no mess, and it hurt less. But it didn't do its primary job, which is ripping those hairs out! It was so frustrating, I went over the same area three times, and nothing! Tried different strips, and found that the paper disposable ones work better than the cloth ones provided. But still, now I was getting maybe 15-20% of the hairs. I got sick of it, got my walgreens-purchased Sally Hansen messy wax, and finished the job--no hair left behind AT ALL.
So, here are a few possibilities why it didn't work for me:
1) Moom only works on some kinds of hair. My hair is thick and black.
2) I was unlucky and got a bad batch
3) Reviews are fake
I usually trust reviews, and most of the time my experience matches those of the majority, so I'm just baffled and a little sad. Looks like it'll be back to messy sticky waxes for me.

Thanks for your honest review. Is it then cheaper to buy wax at Walgreens rather than on Amazon?

Same experience with me. Did you find a wax that works? I'm thinking of the Gigi all purpose wax. Ugh, the time and money we waste...

same experience with me. Was so excited to have this but it defeated the whole purpose - removing hardly 5 to 10% of hair. I hate it.

Did you grow out your hair for two weeks first? On their site it states that you have to grow it first so that it can work properly.

but isn't that the part you are trying to stop? Getting those hairs out before it fully grows back?

wow just saw the comments. I think it varies, I just happened to have some at home. I had good luck with Sally Hansen ones.

I actually switched over completely to laser! I found some awesome deals through Groupon (check deals in your area), so it was actually only $200 for 6 sessions! My thighs are nice and smooth now, I don't ever have to shave them anymore, really, but I still have about 5% of my hairs left.

Yes. And it worked fine for other waxes. Just not this one.

I had the same experience. I tried it 3 differeent times & not a SINGLE ( not exaggerating ) hair pulled out. It was like applying water. I've been home waxing for over 30 yrs. My hair is not thick. And because of all the years of waxing, my hair have gotten fine.
I don't understand where ALL the 5 star reviews came from.
