Not Bad for What it Costs,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SANOXY 7 INCH TABLET STAND WITH MICRO USB KEYBOARD, VEGAN PU LEATHER USB KEYBOARD CASE/COVER STAND FOR ANDROID 7 INCH TABLET PC (7 INCH TABLET BLACK) (Personal Computers)
This keyboard case did the job for me. It's nothing special, but the keys have decent feedback and the case feels solid enough to protect my tablet. I bought it for a Skypad Alpha and it worked fine using this usb converter (USB A Female to Mini USB B 5 Pin Male Adapter) to convert the mini usb port to a full sized female to accept the usb cord from this case. The Skypad has the USB port on the bottom, so you have to flip it over in the case so the USB port is at the top left instead of the bottom right if you use the same converter I did (otherwise the converter sticks out too much at the bottom and you can't prop up the pad without risking breaking the port or converter). The downside is that the arrow keys won't work properly (up becomes down and left becomes right, etc.) but it worked for me. You could just buy a right angle OTG cable converter and not have to deal with this issue, but I'm too cheap :). The USB cable stretch the whole distance, which I didn't think it would, by routing the cable under the pad. The cable is longer than it looks like it is, probably around a foot. The Skypad is also a bit shorter in height than the case is designed for (widescreen aspect ratio), so the pad sits in the bottom mounts and is about an inch or so shy of the top mount, so it can fall out if you aren't careful. It would be nice if the mounts were adjustable, even just the top mount.
The stylus is a nice touch. The tip is very fine, like the stylus from an old Palm PDA, which makes it very accurate and easy to use on the resistive screens of the lower end tablets. I find myself using it fairly often.
I have to agree with other reviewers that said that calling this case faux leather is a stretch. It feels very plasticky, like they weren't even trying to mimic leather. The material isn't bad, but the build quality isn't so hot. The mounts for the tablet to sit on were crooked on mine and the whole thing is generally not assembled very precisely. Stitching is crooked and some parts aren't quite right. But for the price, I guess it's not much to complain about.
Bottom line: You probably aren't going to be showing it off, but it certainly works like they say. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the so-so build quality.
