Not Your Typical Thriller,
This review is from: Empire of Lies (Paperback)
The most remarkable aspect of this novel is the plot. When I picked up this book, I had no idea where it was going to go. Once the plot had fully developed it was hard to put it down. The reason--the plot was realistic and not afraid to go where political correctness would normally not allow. It was actually very refreshing to see a plot unaffected by political correctness. As for the writing--it was what you would expect from a thriller novel. Overall it was an easy and enjoyable read. Two complaints--the author goes down a few side roads that seemed unnecessary in discussing sexual stuff. Also, the author inserts conservative political opinion throughout the book--I've got no problem with that but think it would have been more effective if more subtle. I liked it and will look for more writing from Andrew Klavan.
