5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible for the money!, August 26, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: GE DVX Waterproof/Shockproof 1080P Pocket Video Camera (Bubble Gum) with 2GB SD Card (Electronics)
I used to use the first and second generation Kodak waterproof cameras. I loved the first one, but the second generation model is horrible and mine broke within a month. I was happy to see a good alternative at less than $100 and tried my luck with the GE DVX. This takes awesome video (probably similar to my old Kodak) and was held up well at the pool, beach, and my boats. It's really amazing how cheap this is. Great camera and you won't find a better alternative anywhere near the price.

By first gen Kodak, do you mean the Playsport Zx3? How would you compare this camera, the GE DVX, to the Kodak Zx3? I'm trying to decide between the 2. I did own the Zx3 before but sold it to a friend who had more need for it at the time. I want another waterproof camcorder and was wondering if I should play it safe and go back to the Kodak Zx3 or try out this camera.

Hi, Yes, i am referring to the Zx3. I would pick that over the 2nd generation easily. I loved having multiple batteries and it lasted almost two summer seasons for me. The 2nd generation one lasted a month. I really love the GE DVX even though it doesn't have a detachable battery. I just came back from the lake right now and I really abuse the camera. I have friends that even borrow it and are really impressed with it. Maybe I am lucky with this one, but I wouldn't go back to Kodiak 1st generation. That is partly due to the fact it's $90 vs. $140. I view these as 1x summer throw aways if need be at $89.
