Great looking, but inaccurate watch.,
This review is from: Seiko 5 Automatic Black Dial Stainless Steel Mens Watch SNZG13 (Watch)
Others have mentioned that the photo shows a Japanese-made model, which isn't the same as the one for sale here. I have this watch in both the Japanese and Malaysian movements and there's definitely a difference between the two. My Japanese one only cost twenty dollars more but it keeps really accurate time and has a much smoother feel when setting it. I bought my Malaysian one on a whim while visiting Malaysia (and paid WAY too much for it there) and it runs a whole minute fast everyday. Doesn't sound like much, but it means I'm constantly having to reset it every few days to know the correct time. When the crown is pulled out and turned for adjusting the day or date, there's a gritty feeling to it that you find on cheaper watches. I sprang for the electroplated, "gunmetal"-finish watch, which has the same stainless steel band and case but in a darker finish. The band has held up well but scratches show up easily on it. The crystal has a few deep scratches as well, whereas my Japanese model has yet to show any (both are worn regularly in the same kind of conditions). Both have held up well to salt water snorkeling and high humidity, and both glow nice and bright for half an hour or more with a 100 lumen flashlight charge for a few seconds. The "gunmetal" model has two other things unique to it: the hash marks AND the numerals glow in the dark (makes for a nice little bedside clock when camping or traveling!) and the seconds hand is solid red, rather than just the tip of it. Makes for a nicer looking watch in my opinion.
Bottom line: I sure won't be buying another one that doesn't have the Japanese movement.
