Pretty Good Tea at a Reasonable Price,
This review is from: Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast Tea, A Traditional Irish Tea, Strong and Dark, 80 Tea BagsNeither Twinnings nor Bigelow are particularly popular tea brands in Ireland. The tea they pedal in the USA is pretty weak stuff to begin with. But for more authentic Irish breakfast tea try brands such as Lyons or Barry's, . These are the brands popularly used in Ireland. That said, Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast Tea is pretty good. Actually, It's very good, and despite what another reviewer said, is packaged in the way one normally would find tea packaged in either Ireland or the UK. I was dubious at first of any tea marketed in the USA as Irish, but was so pleasantly surprised when I had my first cup that I went out and bought two more boxes of Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast tea that very morning. The price is also right: just over $2.00 a box vice the typical price of $8.00 or more per box for the Barry's or Lyon's branded versions. Unfortunately, it seems that this tea is only seasonally marketed around St. Patrick's Day -well at least where I live. More the pity, because I really enjoy this tea, and would buy it year round if I could. If you can get your hands on it, then buy it. You can't beat the price or the flavour.
