Inexpensive and Holding Up Well,
This review is from: Pyrex 1118441 Prepware Mixing Bowl Set, 3-Piece, Clear (Kitchen)
I bought this set about two weeks ago and have been satisfied overall. You are getting exactly what you pay for; three basic glass bowls that are fairly sturdy and seem very durable. My only complaint is that they identify themselves as `mixing bowls' and are really all too small to do any real mixing in. The smallest one is the size of a cereal bowl, and the biggest one can only hold enough salad for 4 people. If you want to actually mix, even a single batch of cookies, you're going to want something bigger.

The ability use the bowls for mixing comes down to making sure you use the right size bowl for the job. My wife and I routinely use these bowls for mixing. Salad is one thing we don't mix in the pyrex bowls because salad is usually a high-volume, low-density item and these bowls aren't suitable for that (at least the 2.5-Qt or smaller sizes, we don;t have the 4-Qt size). This is a great product and I say that as a guy who usually doesn't rave about kitchen products. I do wish the lids from the Pyrex "Smart Essentials" mising bowls would work on these as well but I've been led to believe they aren't interchangeable.
