This review is from: Acer AM3400-B4052 20-Inch Desktop (Black) (Personal Computers)
I was incredibly uncertain about this brand/product. I've used one desktop company for years and they were a decent brand and always worked fine except for the occasional virus, but for what I was looking for in a new computer they didn't offer. So I searched for a relatively cheap desktop with the specs I wanted and this model fit the bill. Had the processor speed, video/audio capabilities and ports/RAM I was looking for at a decent price. So far I have had the machine close to a month and no problems whatsoever. The only tricky thing was figuring out the mount for the Monitor because they hide one piece in the box very cleverly. Otherwise it's a good machine, fast, quiet and runs well. I don't do any heavy stuff but for my needs its more than effective.

The monitor is big enough for me and has rich colors. It doesn't tilt back, but otherwise its great.

The sound is decent.

The speed is good.

The OS is Windows 7 which is good enough.

It has a bevy of input ports and a second slot expansion for an internal hard drive that is supposedly simply slip in, but the power and BUS connections aren't the typical Internal hard drive connectors so it looks like in order to install a second hard drive I'm going to have to open it up and manually connect it. I tried installing an internal one I had lying around but it didn't work because of the connections. But I consider this slot expanision a bonus anyway.

It runs WoW perfectly, no laggin' whatsoever. Video/music/image editing programs work smoothly on it without a bump. Nothing major like Photoshop but their free-ware counterparts.

There are USB slots and on top and front of desktop unit which is very convienent.

So far so good, no problems.

The hard drive connector is the current standard SATA connectors. The cables are pretty small and it just slides onto the connector. Older hard drives were IDE and the cables were very wide and had a 30-pin connector.

Any new SATA hard drives you buy now will be completely compatible with the connectors on this desktop.
