Excellent, Lightweight and Sturdy,
This review is from: phil&teds Traveller Crib, Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Baby Product)
We were trying to decide between the KidCo Peapod, Baby Bjorn Travel Crib and Phil and Teds Travel Crib. Our daughter is about 20 months old and not a naturally sleep-easy kid. The Peapod turned out to be a giant toy for her. She ended up crawling in and out, playing and generally doing everything but sleep. So then it was down to the more expensive Bjorn and the more afforable Phil Teds.
We have and continue to fly quite a bit for travel, so in the end, we decided to go with the Phil Teds for its light-weight and portability. We can put the Phil Teds into a bag with other items to check-in as one bag, whereas the Bjorn would've taken up its own check-in.
We were initially concerned with the ease of setup, but being campers and backpackers, decided to give it a go. After the first time, the setup got easier and easier, to the point where it would only take a few minutes. Same for take-down. Really, after the first time, it was not a problem at all. We are highly impressed with the durability and sturdiness and quality. And most importantly, our daughter slept really well in it!! The 4 sides kept her in like a crib compared to the Peapod and she feels secure like in her crib at home. Also, when she gets older and can manage it, there is a zipper that she can use to climb in an out.
Space: while narrow, it hasn't been an issue. Our daughter is tall for her age and we also put in stuffed animals with her. Overall, it's still provided plenty of room.
We highly recommend this for travel but especially air-travel!!
