Not bad at all.,
This review is from: Dishonored (Video Game)
Plays very much like Bioshock: all food and drink is immediately consumed except for health and mana potions, and mission items are inaccessible until you need them. This, combined with the fast-paced combat and stealth system, makes for a roller coaster of a game. If you're quick enough, you can have complete control of everything around you. On the flip side, slow players can find themselves dead in a gutter in no time.
Dunwall is about as grim as a game environment can be outside of the survival horror genre. The in-game literature is incredibly morbid, every time. This is great entertainment the first couple of times, but got pretty tiresome for me quickly. Regardless, the combat animations never get old, and you'll never find yourself bored if you stick to the main story.
The story is fairly linear, which is jarring in a game that otherwise feels like a sandbox action game. Fortunately, 'missions' are replayable from the main menu, which lets you see how else it could have happened, and makes this somewhat less annoying. In addition, this allows the player to watch as Dunwall sinks to greater depth of depravity and corruption, which really ups the immersion factor.
Overall, if you liked the Bioshock series, or stealth-based games like Assassin's Creed, you'll probably like this one. But be prepared for some seriously depressing bits.
