Does Not Explain that regular DVD Version Does Not Have Complete Dance Routines,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Magic Mike (DVD) (DVD)
I received my DVD version of "Magic Mike" today from Amazon.com. It does not contain the additional footage (dance sequences by Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer.) I was told today by someone that only the Blue Ray combo pac version has this. THIS IS NOT CLEAR IN ANY OF THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS PUT OUT BY AMAZON.COM. Shame on you Amazon, for deliberately misleading the public. Since I saw the film, I would not have purchased this DVD, but wanted to see the dance footage that Soderberg did not include in the film. I don't own a BLU RAY DVD player, by the way and can't afford one. I'm certainly disappointed that the Distribution Company distributed this product in this way.

After reading this post, I will not purchase the DVD. Like the writer, I do not have a Blue Ray and have no intentions of buying one. The way I see it, the DVD and the Blue Ray versions should be identical.

The description claims that the dance scenes are included though, which is obviously false. I bought this version after buying the combo pack assuming it would have the special features. So now I own two copies of the movie and can't watch the special features on either. Amazon needs to fix this description.

This truly pissed me off too! The ONLY reason I bought the movie was for the extra footage (pun intended) of Joe. The "backstage" special feature on the DVD is a JOKE. I'm just going to make a compilation video of all of the scenes Joe is in and then hopefully pawn this DVD off on someone else.

I bought a blu ray player from www.cowboom.com (best buy's customer returns seller) for $25.00 plus 10.00 shipping. Added a remote by googling model number and finding it on eBay for 8.00 with shipping included

A friend has just checked it out on Amazon and they have changed it. I wish I knew before I ordered.

On most DVD's, including this one, Amazon lists the Special Features. After the list of "Product Details", there's the list of "Special Features" (heading "Special Features" is in brown letters). I totally agree that DVD's & Blu-Ray should include the same features. They're trying to force us to buy the more expensive Blu-Ray. So unfair to those of us on a tight budget!

They made this clear before the movie was released to DVD or Blu Ray. It was said that additional scenes were on the Blu Ray. So that's what I bought when I pre ordered.

Holy crap! BluRay players are under 80 bucks. And honestly...if you are a tight budget (as one poster has written), you probably shouldn't be buying DVDs. Try paying some bills down or putting a little money in savings first. If you really HAVE to have it, get it used in a couple of months. The DVD and Blu-Ray versions shouldn't be identical. The point of the Blu-Ray was to have higher resolution and more features. Come on people!
