Great old fashioned fun movie. Good music, great characters. The use of old timers and WWII Battleship was just fun.
we need more movies like this one. Acting was excellent as were special effects.

Actually, the last thing we need is more movies like this.

Please see Armeggedon, Starship Troopers, War of the Worlds, Transformers, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, whatever the next Transformers will be called, The Day After Tomorrow, Cowboys & Aliens, Avatar, GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, I Am Number Four, Stargate, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Reign of Fire, The A-Team, Predator, Independence Day, Deep Impact, Total Recall (either one), Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Terminator: Salvation, Battle: Los Angeles, and 2012 before you ask for more of the same.

Thanks!

P.S. For the movies above that are remakes, i am referring to the new version (except Total Recall, as noted).

Well, sorry to say, but people are NEVER going to stop asking for movies like this because the majority of them happen to believe they are fun roller-coaster rides, diversions from the workaday troubles of reality, if you prefer. That's the reason these types of movies strike a chord and are so popular. People want an escape.

And there's nothing wrong with wanting that. We're not all going to like the same books, music, or food either, are we? The same applies here.

That's why we have what's called "variety." There's plenty of room, and then some, for everything. Movies should not be, and certainly don't have to be, pigeon-holed into one specific category.

Saturday night popcorn fun! Why do so many movie geeks demand some sort of social commentary and eclectic thought provoking plots in every movie? And at the same time dismissing people who enjoy them.
