5.0 out of 5 stars Quicken Starter Edition 2013, October 25, 2012

This review is from: Quicken Starter Edition 2013 [Download] [OLD VERSION] (Software Download)
I have used Microsoft Money for many years and needed to finally move to something else since it has been discontinued. I was able to import from Money into Quicken easily and near 100% accurate. The only issue I have found is the due date on some bills are off a couple of days. All of my accounts with transactions, categories and recurring bills were imported. I am even finding it easier to use. Definitely recommending.

Donna,
You really just moved from MS Money now? Support for it was discontinued about three years ago, and I had to switch then. I'm glad you had a good import into Quicken, because mine (from MS $ to Quicken Deluxe 2010) went horribly. Did you import any investment accounts?

I have NOT made the switch yet :( I currently am using my old computer with MS$ on it just for that purpose alone, but really need to migrate to something new.

I only imported checking and savings accounts so that's probably why it went well. On one of my accounts I ended up just importing the last 90 days from online banking to get that a try and it did pretty good. I keep very simple categories, though, so that probably helps.

I don't recall reading instructions on importing, per se. I just tried it and it worked. Sorry I can't be more help...good luck!

I compared Quicken and Microsoft Money in about 1992. I preferred Money.
Since never once had I had to ask Microsoft for help with my Money program -- I'm still using it, and enjoying it!
The mnajor advantage of newer programs is that one can synchronize the banking and brokerage accounts online. I prefer to receive printed records from my banks and broker to hold in hand and check. Just personal preference. Doing so makes me feel younger.
