This review is from: Matricom G-Box MX2 Dual Core XBMC Android 4.2 TV Box + Special Edition XBMC (Personal Computers)
Decided to try j1nx's xbmc-linux build and WOW!!! I'm wirelessly (30 feet through two walls) streaming 1080p videos from youtube perfectly (20mbps cable internet service, cisco e2500 wireless N router, older zoom modem, 32mb Sandisk Extreme SD 10 card in a midnight 2.1) and every official/unofficial xbmc add-on that works with linux is working. I also have a htpc running UE 3.5 64bit(based on 12.04 precise) that now sits unused cuz, 5 watts, no fan and hardly any heat is much better than 400w and fans! It cannot handle hdhomerun streams..hmm wonder if there are any updates for the hdhomerun, never liked that it sends uncompressed streams. I'm using a logitech bluetooth wireless keyboard (totally recommend the one that you can buy here for like $35, the one that came with the Logitech Revue, not the k400r with the lines in the mouse pad). Couple things...if you install xbmc-linux and the xbmc repository shows no addon choices, right click the repository (on the page where it says *enabled*) and select *force refresh*, this also the case for bluecops repository, if you do not force refresh, it will not allow you to even see whats inside. To connect to the internet, go to system-settings-internet access and click where it says no connection , choose your network, enter password and voila! Fusion works perfectly. Navi works well but dont trust it not to freeze and crash while perfoming some searches. I find that using the dedicated addons (like one channel) is always a better choice than using them through Navi. Had some trouble getting the time to read correctly even after setting up the international settings to my eastern time zone but, after a few hours of being on, it figured it out. Havent turned it off or rebooted in over 24 hours and its always there, waiting for me whenever I go to it. To install xbmc-linux, download to your SD card from j1nx (J,#1,nx) go to the zip file through your android file manager, right click the zip file and choose install from zip. If for some reason you miss it, you can always flash back to Android OS at any time. I'm now off to see if you can root the Logitech Revue yet since, typing this brought that POJ back to mind :)

You forgot to mention, hulu plus installs but will not play any HD videos, droid TV will not play videos, and try installing the update for netflix, the netflix app will no longer work. Everything else seems to work fine, I only recently purchased the G-box Midnight and am still playing around with the system.

no, xbmc only ever comes with its own official repository, you have to find the others on your own..

Yes, I read not to update the netflix app in the review that was the top one when I bought the unit. I didnt update it or the pre-installed youtube. If you need a copy of the apk for the working netflix app that came with the unit, let me know. I'm not a hulu plus or droid Tv user but, its a shame they arent working for you.

Have you tried to install and watch movies/videos on mx player?
Until now it is the only one that can play Hi10P videos if you don't count the nightly builds of XBMC
