Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Le Souk Ceramique Cookable Tagine, Black and White Honey Design (Kitchen)
I am new to Moroccan cooking and purchased this tangine because of the comparative price as well as the beauty of the ceramic. I bought the "honey" design and I think it is gorgeous. Another reviewer said that it looked like a sharpie had drawn the design and I would argue against that. It is really lovely and you can tell it was hand done with pride.
In hindsight I might have gone for a costlier (less ornamental) tangine which would be less sensitive to high temps. This is an issue for me because of my glass cooktop. However, I have found my ways of working around this. I start my dish in a saucepan and then move it into the tangine for the duration of the cook time. I also tend to put it in the oven instead of slow cooking on my range though I have successfully used it on my range set on a very low heat (no diffuser as my cooktop warns against it).
The dishes I've created using this tangine have been spectacularly cooked and I am pleased with the performance of it. I followed the seasoning instructions found on the Le Souk webpage.
