1.0 out of 5 stars Not Even Worth It, October 22, 2012
This review is from: City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments) (Hardcover)
I'm a big fan of the original trilogy, but I have to say, this book was terrible. This series has been going down hill ever since the fourth installment and it seems that it won't be able to recover itself.

I found this book to be extremely aggravating, there was little to no plot development, and all the characters seem to want to do is make out with their significant other. It became so bad that almost every chapter had at least one make out scene. The only character I could somewhat enjoy was the villain, mainly because he was actually being productive, unlike the others.

Altogether, this book does not live up to the series and after reading this one I will not even bother with the sixth.

This review helped me to decide not to buy the 5th book. After the fourth book I was already beginning to feel like the writing was becoming more "teen girl" oriented with nothing but constant relationship angst and the fantasy component left far behind. Ahhhh well, the first three were entertaining.

This 5th book was my favorite in the series. Towards the end it is sinister & sexy. Seriously read it ALL you won't be dissapointed
