Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Footsteps to Forever: A World War II Thriller (Kindle Edition)
I agree completely with the review that this book when he or she says "The major issue I have with it is that the dialog and the story structure itself reads like a book written for a primary grade school audience."

The story is without depth and leaves the reader with nothing to ponder about, nothing to lose themselves in, no deep sense at all of life or times of World War 2 -nothing to take with them from this story or the characters involved.

I purchased this on the basis of the great reviews that were posted. I was extremely disappointed.

Many of the reviewers here who gave this one 5 stars have reviewed no other books, or in one case one other novel. That tells you something.

It tells me that fresh viewpoints are good.

If you want a lot of sex and salty language, this book isn't for you.

I must agree with this review. I was extremely disappointed in the novel.
For a man that is ex military he seems to know little about the way it functions.
He seems to try and apply current jargon to characters from the 40's.
I might be a good book for teenagers, but to anyone accustomed to reading WWII and other military works it falls flat.
It is not, as the cover suggests, a thriller.
I would not feel so badly had I purchased it at a used book price.
