New Wallabees positively suck compared to old ones. The Irish factory closed down in the late 1980s, and the Chinese-made product is, at best, a poor substitute for the original. If you don't believe me, then, perhaps you can explain why vendors--even Amazon--insist on showing photographs of pre-1988 Wallabees that barely resemble the current Wallabees in terms of quality of leather, quality of stitching, accuracy of cut, etc.
No other shoes keep your feet dry? Have you tried a nice, solid pair of thong sandals? I can't imagine a more breathable, exquisitely comfortable environment for a wet foot. I recommend the Birkenstock Ramses--although that sports quite an avant-garde design that many men may find just a bit too naked-looking--or, for something a little more conservative, the Reef Slap II in either the solid black (rubber and suede) scheme or the leather-and-rubber (two-tone brown/black) scheme. Enjoy!
