Made in China, but otherwise good.,
This review is from: Skagen Men's SK233XLTMD Titanium Brown Espresso Dial Watch (Watch)The brand name might have you thinking it is possibly Swiss, but it is made in China. They do not advertise this. I searched everywhere looking for the country of origin and could not find any information. The watch is decent looking but definitely looks "cheaper" is person. It is very light any almost unnoticable. The shipping was fast. I would recommend that they lower the price. I do not believe any watches fully made in China deserve that price.

Definitely agree that they should advertise that. Still I think the price is reasonable compared to other "made in China" watches.

I had mine for a year and the black started rubbing off, specially the band and the clasp. I like the watch very much but am disappointed in the short duration paint job.

Skagen was originally a Danish brand - not Swiss. From my brief research - the designers are from Denmark, there's suggestion the watches are actually put together in the U.S. and the company has moved there.
Even if they are put together in China, keep in mind this doesn't automatically make them a cheap product. There are several excellent products that are put together in China - such as all Apple products, and the majority of electronics for example. Notice these products are of fine quality, and it comes down to their design and choice of materials that are put into it. Usually if a product is "made in China" it is assembled there, and depending on the brand, with quality parts to boot.
Apparently their movement is assembled in China - at least in some watches they are. However the face and dials are not - they are made in Denmark.
