An improvement from the debut,
This review is from: Blackbird (Audio CD)
Overall Alter Bridge's sound has remained the same, but there is just something about this disc that makes it better than "One Day Remains." On ODR, I felt like it was still kind of Creed with a new singer. These songs have much more of an identity of a new band.
As always, Tremonti kills it on the guitar, but this time around the riffs seem to have more purpose and bring you in more. On the debut, you heard his skill, but it didn't always add to the track. These riffs are very "hooky".
Miles also fits in better on this record, which is probably due to the fact that he was involved in the songwriting process this time around.
I've only listened to the disc twice (as it just came out today), but I'm liking it a lot. Catchy riffs, good melodies, and overall just some really captivating songs. A job well done.
