This review is from: Notorious Nineteen: A Stephanie Plum Novel (Hardcover)
Finally, it feels like the old writing style for Evonovich is back! This book has yet to pick between Ranger and Morelli but it's so good you don't mind as much as the previous books where you just want to scream "pick one!" Evonovich seems to have Stephanie leaning towards Morelli but leaves a lot of openings for Ranger as well. It is a quick read and it's hard to put down. Stephanie comes off as much more capable in her job than previous books, still takes her forever to catch a skip but she comes off as competent in this book. A few laugh out loud moments, especially in the end and while it is the same plot line as usuall (Stephanie in trouble, trying to make ends meet and struggling to figure out her future especially where her two love interests are concerned) I just didn't mind as much since the writing was so like the first few in the seemingly endless series. Glad I took a chance on it even though I swore 18 was the last one for me. If she keeps writing like her first few books, hard to put down, than I'm not sure I mind Evonovich not picking a guy for Stephanie. Great book but couldn't give it 5 stars since it was still more of the same plot, written better but still just the same.
